The Royal Hiney Saga
At the end of this saga, you will be rewarded with a video compilation of royal hineys in the wild!
THE ORIGINAL IDEA
I started Better Luck with a simple goal: make comfortable clothes so aesthetically unique that people would want to keep them forever.
THEN CAME ROYAL HINEY
I designed a jumpsuit with a crown-shaped seam on the butt (hence the name) and set out to manufacture it.
Turns out, making clothes is expensive. Especially when you have expensive taste, limited savings, and recently got laid off (bye bye 9-5!)
THEN CAME THE DREAD
I learned that even small-batch manufacturing requires trade-offs in quality, design, and execution. This made me less excited about spending thousands of dollars producing a bunch of identical garments. The whole point to make clothes that felt individual. You know what clothes people hold onto the longest? Clothes that carry a memory or feel deeply personal — even if the clothing is completely unwearable and falling apart at the seams. When it comes to keeping things, meaning precedes “quality.”
SO, A CHANGE OF PLANS
Better Luck is becoming a hands-on clothing transformation studio. Think paint-your-own-pottery, except you're reinventing your wardrobe. No sewing experience required.
Instead of deciding what everyone should wear, I want to give people the tools, materials, and guidance to make that decision themselves.
SMALL LOOSE END: THE JUMPSUIT
I still really like the jumpsuit. And I'd still really like to make it. I like the factory I’m working with, the fabric rules, it’s danceable and it collects compliments everywhere.
So we're opening preorders for a limited, small-batch production run.
Here's the arrangement: you order a jumpsuit, we get one order closer to meeting our manufacturing minimum, and proceeds help fund the Better Luck studio.
Rather than manufacture a bunch and hope people buy them, we're asking people to buy them so we can manufacture one small bunch. Revolutionary, I know. And you’re not just buying a very slay jumpsuit — you’re helping fund the future of Better Luck.
THE FINE PRINT
Once we meet our production minimum, manufacturing and shipping should take approximately two months.
We're giving ourselves until June 30, 2027 to get your jumpsuit to you (very conservative date). If it hasn't arrived by then, you'll have the option to receive a full refund.
Less mass production, more mass creativity.
